Planet Camping – Glamping Wishlist…..

Whilst at secondary school (many years ago *sigh*), I was a keen athletic teenager who loved doing all sorts of activities from Netball to Football to Athletics. So it’s really no surprise that I signed up to do the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE).

DofE is youth awards programme founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh that has since expanded to 140 other countries. The programmes are at three progressive levels which, if successfully completed, lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The physical side of the award involves orienteering in a group to find camp.

Looking back, I wish I knew about Planet Camping ( Planet Camping is a great website which sells products to meet all of your camping needs. Whether you’re having a mini camping party in your back garden or going to a festival, Planet Camping have you covered.

If I were to do another DofE expedition (in style), here is what my wishlist from Plant Camping would be:

  1. VW Camper Van Tent (
How cool is this bad boy? Knowing that I could look forward to putting this awesome tent up once I’ve found camp would spur me on and give me all the encouragement I need. This would be the ultimate way to celebrate finding camp.
  2. Lazy Patch Adult Duvet Suit (
    Pale Blue Suit
As fate would have it, it is always cold whenever you go to do DofE. The day before could be a heatwave but guaranteed, it will be zero degrees on DofE day! Having an adult duvet suit which is  designed to make you feel like you never got out of bed in the first place would feel like HEAVEN!!
  3. Selk Bag Lite Sleep suit (             SelkBag Lite Blue
Considering you have to carry EVERYTHING on your back whilst trying to find camp, it is very important to pack as light as possible. Does that mean you have to compromise your comfort? Well not with this starfish sleeping bag. It is super lightweight, has an insulated hood and Velcro hand release system. When you wake up, you literally can just get up without dreading the cold! Matter of fact, forget camping, I would want one of these for home. It would make the ultimate onesie!
  4. Camping Cook Set Bundle (                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Gelert Cookset BundleOne of the hardest things about DofE for me was leaving my kitchen. How would I survive without a variety of decent pots? Needless to say, I just about survived on noodles! However with this set, I would have been more than ok! The set includes an Aluminium 4 Cooking Pan Set,  a Foldaway Kettle and a Bamboo Picnic Set for 4 people.
  5. LED Torch with Bottle Opener ( ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†When it comes to camping, I think it’s important to find as many multi-use products as possible. This torch would definitely meet my needs. Since I am now 25, I’m sure I would need a good drink to wind down my evening at the campsite. Whilst providing me with some light to find my bottle of alcohol, I could then use it to open it…..Fab!

I hope you have found this wishlist useful if you are planning to go camping or to a festival any time soon.

Be sure to check out Planet Camping at They have a great variety of products and quite a few items are on sale, so get them whilst you can!

Who knew water could be Powerful?

I came home to a rather large and heavy package which left me confused as I have recently put myself on a online shopping ban. Upon opening my mysterious package, I was delighted to see I had been sent 3 full sized bottle of POW Sparkling Energy Water from The Powerful Water Company.

POW is the UK & Ireland’s first Natural Energy Water. According to their website, The Powerful Water Company is committed to developing healthier¬†drinks using natural ingredients.¬†They developed POW to create a product that combines¬†the rehydrating qualities of water with natural energy in a low sugar, low calorie sparkling fruit flavoured energy water.

I was sent 3 flavours as shown above, Cranberry & Apple, Coconut & Lime and Citrus & Zest. I couldn’t wait to taste them as I have been looking for a healthier way to get my caffeine intake. I usually have a Venti Caramel Latte with an extra shot of Caramel to keep me awake¬†for the working day. I found that having a bottle of POW did keep increase my energy levels, it kept me alert and I felt really good. It’s weird but I had a strange sense of “oomph” injected into me and I was ready and rearing to tackle anything thrown at me.

Now as someone who is not a fan of sparkling water at all (it has a weird after taste!), I was pleasantly surprised. All 3 flavours are really refreshing and rather delicious. I love the combination and variety of the flavours as they can be drunk when you are craving different things. For example, I often get a craving for something sour to remove a funny taste in my mouth and I usually end up drinking a can of San Pellegrino Limonata. When it happened this time around, I decided to have the Citrus & Zest bottle of POW water…….oh it was good! Exactly what the doctor ordered!

It is so¬†great to see an energy drink on the market that is all NATURAL, NOT full of rubbish and packed with sugar and has great flavour. I sometimes find that healthy products can compromise on the flavour for the health benefits but POW doesn’t do that. I would highly recommend this product, it is definitely innovative and it works!

On a final note:

If you would like to give POW water a try, it is widely available in Waitrose, BP garages and Superdrug.  For more information about POW Water go to
