Nailbox – June 2016: Festival Fever!

If you have read my previous posts, you would have gathered that my Nailbox subscriptions have not kept me excited. I have already gotten over the novelty of it all. Therefore I didn’t expect much from this month’s box.

However, this month’s cute Festival Fever¬†shades definitely sparked my interest!

This month I received 4 full sized nail polishes and a pack of nail art.

Here’s a closer look at what was in my June box:

Elegant Touch ‚Äď Stylist Nail Art Tape Metallic (RRP ¬£3.95)

I am not the best at nail art, in fact unless it is a French tip or dotting I am absolutely rubbish! These metallic strips are really easy to use and easily make my nails look like they have been professionally done.

Essie ‚Äď Jazzy Jubilant (RRP ¬£7.99)

I loved the gold glitter polish by Essie that I received in one of the previous Nailboxes so I was excited to see a variation of it in this box. This glitter polish has turquoise and ¬†pink specks of various sized glitter. I wouldn’t say the application of this polish is as good as the gold one as it takes a few coats to get good coverage.

Rimmel ‚Äď Cheeky Chap Sweetie Heart Matte Polish (RRP ¬£3.99)

This is such a beautiful pastel powder blue by Rimmel with a matte finish. I am not really fond of matte polishes as after a few days they turn shiny due to using hair and body products. I will probably use a shiny top coat when wearing this colour.

OPI ‚Äď Is Mai Tai Crooked? (RRP ¬£12.50)

Firstly, I LOVE the name of this polish….it did make me giggle! I am a big fan of OPI polishes so I was extremely happy to add to my ever growing collection. This colour definitely goes with festival theme. It is a peachy orange which has attracted a lot of compliments!

Bourjois ‚Äď Turquoise Gel 1 Second Polish (RRP ¬£5.99)

I love Bourjois nail polishes as the brushes are amazing at giving an even coverage. This polish is a lovely bold turquoise colour which claims to give a dry gel finish within 1 second. As you can imagine, this claim is not true but it does dry quite quickly!

Overall, I think Nailbox have definitely got back on my good side so I won’t be cancelling any time soon. There were no bright pinks this month and the polishes were quality! The value of this box was¬†¬£34.46 and I only paid ¬£15 so once again, a great bargain!

Pink Parcel ‚Äď June Box 2016

Pink Parcel is a monthly subscription box which offers 3 dispatch dates for you to choose from, based on your time of the month so you can be sure to receive your box before your period is due. This box removes any and every monthly cycle worries you may have as you are able to choose your preferred brand of sanitary products so your box is specific to you. It is only £10.50 per month (postage is free) and you get your first box for £6.95! Be sure to read about what was inside my April box.

From my previous posts, you might have gathered that Pink Parcel care a lot about their customers. As a result of some recent customer feedback, they have made some small changes to the boxes. There will no longer be any SASS feminine products, there will be less sanitary products (to be fair, I was collecting enough tampons to open my own shop!) and the price has reduced to £10.50!!!

Furthermore, this box featured an apology from Pink Parcel because the colour of the box was slightly darker than previous boxes! I personally didn’t even notice because I was too excited and focused on opening the box. This just shows how much they care about the quality of the boxes.

As usual, I received my period essentials for the month with the super cute drawstring bags. Although I have a tampon only subscription, I also received some pads for bedtime. I think this is a great addition to the box as it alleviates any fears during the night and you can have a peaceful sleep.

So onto the lifestyle and beauty products, as per usual Pink Parcel sent some great goodies!

  1. A full sized Model Co Power Lash Mascara (RRP £24) which has now become one of my favourite mascaras! This mascara promises to lengthen your lashes with its unique formula and non clumping applicator brush. It definitely fulfills its promises!
  2. A Bubble T macaroon lip balm (RRP £10 for a set of 5)in lemongrass and green tea. I have not used any Bubble T products before but the packaging of this lip balm is really cute. It is really moisturising and left my lips feeling soft and smooth.
  3. As mentioned before, I love scented candles so I was happy to see a White Jasmine scented Wax Melt from Imperial Candles¬†(RRP ¬£1.99). As an extra gift, 10 random subscribers will receive¬†a wax melt with a piece of jewellery in it. Unless the jewellery is embedded in the middle of the melt, I don’t think I was one of those lucky subscribers.
  4. Purifying facial wash and matte finish moisturising cream by Amie Naturally Kind  (RRP £1) which are the perfect size to take on holiday or a quick weekend away.
  5. Continuing with face care,¬†a Star Glow ¬†Ooharr ¬†Face Mask (RRP ¬£1.50) which aims to cleanse and revitalise skin ‚Äď leaving it soft, smooth, supple and radiant by its mixture of natural ingredients and natural clay¬† to detoxify skin and draw out impurities.
  6. I am not the best at nail art but Pink Parcel have my back by including a pack of NPW Halo Nail Stickers & Gems (RRP £1.50).
  7. Bandzee hair bands (RRP £4.95) are revolutionary hair bands. Made from super-soft elastic trim, they prevent any tugging, snapping or hair breakage. They can even be worn as bracelets.
  8. No chocolate this month unfortunately but still a treat, Joe & Sephs Gourmet Salted Caramel Popcorn.
  9. Last but not least,¬†a Tea Shed Emergency Tea Teabag¬†which wasn’t a fancy flavour like previous boxes just simple English Breakfast but delicious nonetheless.

Overall, it is great to see that Pink Parcel take their customer service really seriously and have shown that they listen to their customers. The products were great this month, so the reduced price didn’t affect the quality of the box. In fact, for ¬£10.50 it has incredible value!

Nailbox – May 2016 : Tutti Frutti

As much as I love nail polish, I haven’t been too excited about my Nailbox subscription any more. I was however looking forward to seeing what would be in May’s box as it had the theme Tutti Frutti, which is perfect for Summer.

This month I received 3 full sized nail polishes, a nail treatment and a nail file.

Here’s a closer look at what was in my May¬†box:

Cuccio¬†¬†‚Äď Mint Condition¬†(RRP ¬£4.86)

This is a brand I have never used before so I intrigued about how well it would apply. This is a¬†pastel mint green colour which is something I wouldn’t normally go for but is really nice. The application was easy as the brush provided great coverage.

Essie ‚Äď Haute in the Heat (RRP ¬£7.99)

What can I say but another bright pink nail polish! I know I previously mentioned that I like bright pink polish but not this much! This is the third one so far and I honestly wish I received a different colour to try.  I generally like Essie polishes as they are really opaque and shiny, have great consistency and are long lasting.

ORLY ‚Äď Orange Punch (RRP ¬£10.50)

I have heard of Orly before and they have great reviews as a nail polish brand, so I was really excited to see this one. It is an extremely bright orange colour which perfect for Summer. It has great coverage as it was bold after just one coat. I will definitely be using this one often.

Elegant Touch Nail Apothecary ‚Äď Nail Growth¬†(RRP ¬£7.95)

This treatment polish is a base coat which promises¬†to promote nail growth and strengthen the nails with its¬†salon strength formula enriched with silk, vitamin, proteins and oils.¬† I haven’t tried this one yet but I am sure it will work well like the others I have received.

Stylfile ‚Äď VIP Leopard Nail File ¬£4.99

This is a very interesting nail file, I have never seen a ‘S’ shaped nail file before. It is ‘S’ shaped because your nails are curved so the curved nail file makes filing quick and easy, even when using your non-dominant hand. I loved the leopard print detail as it is furry which is definitely different!

Overall, I was quite impressed with this month’s Nail box ¬†apart from the repetition of the hot pink. Hopefully there is more of a variety next month. Once again, the box was great value for money as in total, the products were worth ¬£36.29

Braun Silk-Epil 7 7-561 Wet & Dry

For a female, the hair removal process can be quite tedious and sometimes Рdepending on the method Рvery painful! Almost everyone wants smooth and hair free skin. I have tried various methods,  from waxing right through to simple shaving.

I have had my eye on an epliator for a while now but have been too nervous to try one.  I was luckily given the opportunity to try an epilator by Braun to review. An epilator is basically an electronic tweezer which removes multiple strands of hair at a time.

FullSizeRender (5)

The Braun Silk-Epil 7-561 (RRP £84) is one of the highest rated epilators currently available so I had high hopes! The Braun epilator comes with a user manual, a cleaning brush, pouch, a charger and six attachments:

  1. Shaver head – for dry shaving
  2. Trimmer cap – to trim down hairs
  3. High frequency massage cap – to soothe and massage the skin
  4. Sensitive area cap – for underarms and intimate areas
  5. Facial cap – for facial hair
  6. Efficiency cap – for maximum skin contact for faster epilation.

FullSizeRender (4)

It also has 40 tweezers at a close grip which remove even the shortest and finest of hairs, a smart light to guide you and a pivoting head to adapt to the contours of your body. The tweezers are staggered which ensure full even coverage. This epilator has two speed settings for the various areas of your body. The first speed is recommended for first time users whilst the highest speed is fast enough for over 81,000 plucks per minute!

One of the main benefits of this epilator is that it is a wet and dry model so it can be used in the bath or shower.¬†¬†It is specially ¬†designed for¬†use in warm water as the warmth increases¬†the blood circulation which improves¬†the comfort of your experience. It is obviously cordless (how else would you safely use it in the bath – haha) but you don’t have to worry about charging it. It takes approximately an hour to fully charge and it lasts for roughly 45 minutes which is more than enough time to remove all your hair. The charging light flashes whilst charging and remains on once fully charged.

The epilator is really lightweight so it is easy to use and it is not too noisy.¬†I decided to test it on my legs hoping it would be less painful.¬†There is a slight pain during this process but it is bearable….after a while! It feels like there are tiny people pinching you rather quickly. I found that it hurts more when you are removing hair that is very close to your bones rather than fatty areas. After a while, I did get used to the slight pain which made the process much easier.

I loved the results as my legs were left extremely smooth and soft….I couldn’t stop rubbing them. I found that the results were much better than when I shave as there weren’t any broken hairs left to cause a rough finish as the epilator removed the hairs from the root. ¬†I didn’t experience any skin irritation thankfully but I made sure to regularly exfoliate to ensure there were no ingrown hairs.

I have to say I was wimp and absolutely copped out of trying this on any intimate or sensitive areas so I cannot comment on how well it performed there.

If you have really thick or coarse hair, I would recommend using the trimmer cap to trim down the hairs first and then epilate as it would be less painful and you won’t have to keep going over the same areas.

Overall, although this epilator is quite expensive it is definitely good value for money. It ensures that you no longer have to purchase disposable razors and has long lasting results.¬† I’ve nothing to compare it to but it definitely does the job and is efficient. The more I use it, the easier and more tolerable it gets. I only wish it came with a¬†regular plug adapter rather an electric razor type two prong attachment.
All in all I think this is an excellent product for epilating legs and I will definitely be using this, rather than shaving, from now on.

Getting Summer time fine with the help of my Dolphin Pro Fitness Tracker Watch

It has taken me a while to review this fitness watch as I wanted to use it in it’s full capacity to give it an honest and unbiased review. The spec of this fitness tracker watch is quite similar to the more expensive branded ones like Apple and Fitbit.

The watch came in a plastic box with a small set of instructions which were very informative and useful and a magnetic charger. Before you use the watch, it is recommended to charge it for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

The watch is small and neat. It has two pins as a clasp so you can adjust the size according to your wrist size. Because of this, the watch can fit a really small wrist all the way up to a large one so one size literally fits all. I find this feature perfect because when I am exercising, the watch doesn’t irritate me by sliding up and down my arm. It can initially be a bit fiddly to do but you get used to it and manage to find a way to pop it on. This watch is waterproof so you don’t have to fuss around with taking it off for your shower.

I have tried a couple of fitness tracker watches before and I have to say that this one in particular is simply flawless when it comes to setting up. All I had to do was simply download the app called “Smart Band” and I was able to instantly connect my phone to the watch via bluetooth. This app is available in the Apple app store and the Google Play store so it is compatible with Apple and Android phones. All you have to do is open up the app then select devices on the menu. It will then display the available devices that you can connect to. When you select your watch, it automatically updates with the date and time. Once synced, the watch can access any previous data your phone holds regarding fitness and it will display charts of your fitness progress.

The watch display is a great size and isn’t too bulky. The screen is just the right size to show the details that you need to see without it affecting your wrist movements or looking too masculine so it is great for men and women. The screen is touchscreen and really responsive so doesn’t require any harsh taps. There is also a gesture function available, so when you turn your wrist, the watch lights up and displays the time.

The features of this watch are great. It tracks how many steps I have done, calories burned, distance & time I have spent on fitness throughout each day. At night time, it tracks my sleep and breaks it down into the amount of hours of deep & light sleep I have had. I am also able to set daily goals that I wish to achieve. This is a great benefit to help me get healthier as I can gradually increase my goals. Additionally, if I have been sitting down for too long, the watch vibrates as a friendly reminder/ nudge to get up and get fit.

My favourite feature of this watch and the app is that you can add other users as friends on the app so that you can see their stats and compete against them. I find that this feature motivates me to work out even harder.

Besides fitness, the watch also shows and vibrates when you receive a text message, a phone call or any social media message and it also says what the notification is for and from on the screen. The watch also syncs really well with the alarms you have set on your phone via the app. When your alarm goes off, the watch vibrates quite a bit to ensure it wakes you and grabs your attention.

In terms of battery life, it is advertised on Amazon as lasting a week but I have to say that it performs much better than that. I believe the battery life reduced by roughly 4-5% a day! Furthermore, it charges really quickly. It takes less than half an hour to charge it to half the battery capacity which is awesome. The charge is fantastic as well, as it is small enough to pop into your pocket or handbag. It is magnetic so it “clips” onto the back of the watch and it is a USB lead so you can attach it to a traditional plug, your car or computer.

I really like this watch and would recommend it to anyone who wants to track their fitness but don’t want to spend too much money. This does exactly what it says it will. According to the user manual, the watch comes in a variety of colours so if you wanted a bright coloured one then you could get one. It would be great if you could swap the straps of the watch but at least it is black and will match with everything.

I will be wearing this smartwatch continuously to help with my fitness and weight loss, Dolphin Pro did an excellent job with this watch.

Pink Parcel – April Box 2016

If you have read my previous post, you will know that I received my April Pink Parcel box a bit late due to technical errors. However, Pink Parcel were fantastic in ensuring I received it in the end.

I have to say that I am ecstatic that I did receive this box as I think it is the best one I have received so far!

It is only £12.95 per month (postage is free) and you get your first box for £9.95! Be sure to read about what was inside my March box.

As usual, I received a more than adequate amount of period essentials for the month as well the super cute drawstring bags. I love these drawstring bags as they really do come in handy.

Just like in my February box, I received a feminine hygiene product¬†and this time it was the SASS Purifying Cleanser (RRP ¬£8) which unfortunately didn’t have a quote on it (I do secretly look forward to reading those!).

This cleanser has been specially created to ensure that you are left feeling fresh throughout the day.

Now onto my favourite part of the box, the lifestyle and beauty products!

  1. Full sized Boozi Body Care Hand Cream in French Martini (RRP £3.95) which simply smells AMAZING! I love sweet smells and this cream definitely does it for me. This cream is lightweight and very hydrating. It left my hands nice and smooth with a lingering exotic scent of raspberries and pineapples.
  2. A NPW Pomegranate & Paw Paw Face Mask (RRP £1.85) which left my face feeling fresh and rejuvenated.
  3. As a lover of nail polish, I was excited to see the True Brit London Nail Polish (RRP £12.50) which had been specially created for Pink Parcel subscribers to match the Pink Parcel logo. The shade is a cute girly pink which I would pick out for myself.
  4. The real superstar of the month was the New CID Cosmetics product. There was the opportunity to get one of three products. I received the iPout Lipstick (RRP £18) in the shade Pink Bliss. This lipstick is revolutionary, it comes with a mirror on the side of the lid and has a built in torch. With this you are able to touch up wherever you are, even at a nightclub.
  5. There was a nice savoury treat this time as Pink Parcel promoted¬†World Health Day by including a pack of Nairn’s Rough Oatcakes (RRP ¬£1.29). These oatcakes are perfect for providing you with an energy boost due to the high fibre and complex carbohydrates. I only managed to get a bite before my boyfriend took the rest….he loved them!
  6. To satisfy that sweet craving you normally get whilst on your period the Mallow & Marsh Bar in Raspberry flavour (RRP ¬£18 for a case of twelve). As I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate, this bar wasn’t for me but my daughter truly enjoyed it.
  7. I really enjoy the range of teas I have tried, thanks to Pink Parcel. The Teapigs Chamomile Flowers Tea (RRP £1.30 for two)  is no exception. The tea bag alone is beautiful and the flavour was strong but tasty.
  8. Last but not least¬†Pink Parcel gave us¬†a tasty surprise due to ¬†the tampon tax being abolished which was Chocolate Smiley Face by Cocoba. I definitely want to buy more of these as it hand small pieces of caramel in it…simply delicious.

This is officially the best Pink Parcel box so far. The products¬†were simply of great quality and carefully chosen.¬†It is obvious that there is a high level of care and thoughtfulness goes into these boxes each month. Roll on May’s box!!

If you want to know more about Pink Parcel, check out their website:

I love Pink Parcel…..

As you may know, I have subscribed to Pink Parcel which is a monthly subscription box which caters to your all your period needs. From sanitary products to chocolate and other little pick me ups, Pink Parcel has you covered.

I have done a few reviews on my Pink Parcel boxes but what truly makes me love Pink Parcel is their customer service!

In March, Pink Parcel gave their website a face lift and it now looks awesome! As a result of this, all of their customers had to re-enter their payment details. Now I had a bit of difficulty locating the payment details area of the site but I really didn’t want to miss out on getting my April box.

I sent an email to their customer services and I received a really friendly response from Jacqueline. She didn’t make me feel stupid at all (thank God!). She was able to direct me to the correct area of the website and she kindly amended my shipment date so that I wouldn’t miss my April box.

Unfortunately, it is now 9th May and I haven’t my April Pink Parcel box. I have seen Instagram pics and Twitter posts about how great it is and I’ve been brewing with jealousy. I sent an email to Pink Parcel‘s customer service team at 09:15am and received a prompt apologetic response from Elle at 09:27am!

She was kind enough to send me a free April box today, so it should be with me soon and she assured me that I would receive my May box on time too.

Now Pink Parcel do not know who I am personally, so their kindness was not because I write blog posts about them. It is simply how they are as a company and I think that is pretty awesome! The best customer service I have received from beginning to end!

P.S – Look out for the April Pink Parcel review soon!
